Fund Raiser

Each year we strive to create a memorable evening for our friends to enjoy that also demonstrates our appreciation for their continued financial support. Well this year we are reaching for even greater heights. What is planned for next month is a spectacular event that spans three days!

Here is what is planned for our three part fundraiser…

Day One - March 25th

Debut performance of Jorge Jimenez in “RUNNING WITH A DREAM”, accompanied by Anna Maria Kaufmann.

This musical event will be held at Teatro Vallarta, beginning 8:00 p.m., with proceeds benefiting the SPCA de PV and Asilo San Juan Diego.

Ticket prices (based on seating) are:

• Orchestra seats – 500 pesos

• Left/right of orchestra seats – 300 pesos

• General admission – 200 pesos

For an additional 250 pesos, attend the After Party and meet the artists. Current plans are to have it immediately following the musical event and in front of the theatre. Refreshments will be provided.

Day Two - March 26th

Enjoy a Fiesta at Hacienda Palo Maria. If you were lucky enough to attend the last fund raiser there, you know what an exquisite venue it is for enjoying an evening with friends and beautiful sunsets. As in the past, this event is not to be missed. Here’s a glimpse into what we have planned:

• Feast on the ultimate in cuisine catered by Joe Jack’s and other local chefs and coordinated by the Four Seasons Hotel staff. There will be six unique food stations serving up a variety of seafood, pasta, roast beef, desserts, etc.

• Start the evening with an incredible array of hors d’oeuvres.

• Complement the cuisine and hors d’oeuvres with offerings from the open bar.

Entertainment will include:

Mariachi Joya de Mexico

Fandango Dance Presentation

Mark Odom Band

Fireworks

Price of tickets is 1400 pesos.

Day Three – March 27th

Brunch held Yvonne Kalman’s fabulous villa at 12 noon. Price for ticket is 750 pesos.

If you would like to attend all the events you can buy the four tickets (Teatro, After Party, Dinner and Brunch) for a discounted price of 2500 pesos.

Tickets for both venues are on sale at the following locations: Hacienda San Angel, Cassandra Shaw Jewelry or Tropicasa.

Contact Janice Chatterton at Hacienda San Angel (222-2692) for more information or to reserve tickets. ALL RESERVED TICKETS MUST BE PICKED UP AT HACIENDA SAN ANGEL.

Spotlight on Rizzo…

A sympathetic tourist found Rizzo on the beach back in December.

She gave her food and love for the three weeks she was here and was content to leave her on the beach when she returned to her home in Canada.

However, after a beach vendor threatened to kill Rizzo the kind tourist was frantic to find a place for her and brought her to us.

We believe Rizzo is approximately 18 months old. She is beautiful and loved by everyone.

She is a gentle dog and gets along well with the other dogs at the Casita.

We think she is a good fit for any home with other pets or anyone just looking for a wonderful companion animal.

Adoption Report
A good weekend for adoptions! At the library, we found forever homes for three puppies (Riley, Freckles and Flash) and one kitten (Tutti Frutti). And, at the Farmer’s Market, we found a wonderful new home for Chloe (thanks Sally!).

Many thanks to all the volunteers: Irma, Amber, Kelly, Debra, Eileen, Angela, Sandra, Sheila, Lily, Emily, Fernando and our new volunteer Josua.

To see all the animals available for adoption, visit our website (www.spcapv.com or www.spcapv.blogspot.com).

The SPCA PV will continue to host adoption events at both Biblioteca los Mangos and the Farmer’s Market every Saturday from 10am - 2pm.

Biblioteca los Mangos is located on Francisco Villa around the corner from Costco. The Farmer’s Market is being held in Paradise Community Center in Olas Altas.

Special Thanks….

Once again, Debra, our dedicated volunteer donated seven boxes of crayons.

Miranda Reeves donated 1000 peso in lieu of a wedding gift for Cassandra Shaw and Mark McCoy.

WOW! Bonnie Cole of Victoria BC generously donated 100 doses of Frontline for use on the SPCA dogs in our casita.

Acopio Needs Donations
The Acopio is in dire need of donations, mainly in the form of food for the animals but in particular puppy food.

The food can either be dropped off at the Acopio or delivered to Janice Chatterton at Hacienda San Angel located at 336 Miramar Street.

Thanks again to Jovita, who donated another bag of dog food for the Acopio.

Other Chatter…
Bean is receiving lots of congratulations on winning the “Top Dog” contest, including e-mails from admires who come to visit her at Cassandra Shaw jewelry.

It’s been suggested that her boyfriend Coco is a beach bum and she deserves better.
